Designer Masanori Morikawa was born in 1984. Morikawa started his own brand, Christian Dada, in 2010. The brand participated in Paris Fashion Week from 2016, presenting collections on the official schedule until announcing its hiatus in January 2020. In March of the following year, Morikawa established BASICKS as a new label. As of the 2025-26 AW season, he has also been the creative director for HUMMEL 00, a fashion collection by Danish sports brand HUMMEL.
